Spring and Summer

I’ve come to believe that spring break is the most needed break of the school year.  I was very weary of the monotony of college and find the monotony of home far more pleasing.  With a schedule that only has me in class Tuesdays and Thursdays, you would think I’d have no lack of free time, but time seems to stand still many times with me doing absolutely nothing productive in the stillness.  It’s been good to come home and help my parents with stuff, put a few hours in at the pharmacy, and catch up with some old friends

One of the best things about this time of the year is making summer plans.  I usually have one big event for myself each summer and this year I believe I’m going to spend a week or two at L’abri.  It would be nice to travel over to one of the European locations, but I think I’m going to have to settle for Massachusettes.  I’ve been looking for a quiet place where I can learn what I want to learn at my own pace while simultaneously being uncluttered by the horrible and wonderful beast called technology.  Should I go to L’abri, along with clothes and toiletries, I will take books, notebooks, and pens.  No more.

I’m hoping it works out.

  • I’ve been thinking about going away for a week as well! If I get a new job, I should be able to afford to go somewhere. I’d like to spend some time on the east coast, but may end up “settling” for San Diego or Seattle. It’s so funny you’re considering going away. I’ve been mulling it through my mind since Christmas.

Like minds, my friend. Like minds. :)

    Ciao.

  • Well, if you ever make it to the great Keystone State (i.e. Pennsylvania) drop me a line. We have some wonderful potato chip factories. :-)

  • Will do.

Potato chip factories? For some reason I have never considered the fact that those must exist. I guess I thought the chips just, you know…showed up in that truck. Never considered they actually came from somewhere.

    Odd. Potato chip factories, huh?

  • Oh man. You’re in for a surprise…
